Lipstick is one of the most frequently seen causes of stains on clothing items. Polyester fabric, which is often used in making shirts, blouses and other apparel, is particularly susceptible to staining by lipsticks. Fortunately, lipstick stains can be removed very easily if the right techniques are adopted. Here’s how:

  • Start by scraping off excess lipstick with a dull knife.
  • Then, dab some rubbing alcohol onto a cotton swab and gently scrub the stain. Rubbing alcohol is known to be effective in removing lipstick stains and is safe to use on polyester fabrics.
  • Once you have removed the stain, rinse the fabric with cold water. This will help remove any residue of rubbing alcohol.
  • Finally, apply a stain remover such as Vanish Oxi Action, or any other similar product, to the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes before washing it in the machine.

By following these steps, you should be able to remove any stubborn lipstick stain from your polyester clothing. Remember that treating the stain as soon as possible is the best approach; the longer it sits, the harder it will be to remove.
