Step 1: Remove Excess Lipstick

First, scrape off any excess lipstick with a butter knife or spoon. Try not to apply too much pressure, as this may cause lipstick stain to go deeper into fabric. Once you have removed as much as possible, turn the pants inside out and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Blot with Detergent

Using a clean cloth, rag or sponge, gently blot the area with a mixture of laundry detergent and cool water. The detergent will help break down the wax in lipstick and allow the stain to be more easily removed. If you do not have any laundry detergent, you can also use dish soap or even toothpaste.

Step 3: Rinse Out the Stain

Continue to blot the stain with warm water until the stain is gone. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread. After the stain has been completely removed, rinse out the fabric with cold water.

Step 4: Wash Pants Separately

To ensure that the lipstick stain does not transfer to other clothing items, wash the pants separately in washing machine on gentle cycle. Use cool water and a mild detergent. When the cycle is finished, make sure to check if the stain is still there. If the stain remains, repeat the above steps before drying.

Step 5: Air-dry the Pants

Once the lipstick stain has been removed and the pants have been washed, air-dry them on a drying rack or line. Do not put them in the dryer as the heat may cause stain to set in the fabric.

Conclusion

By following steps listed above, you can quickly and easily remove lipstick stains from your pants. Remember to always use cool water and a gentle detergent, and never dry pants in tumble dryer.
