When wearing lipstick, some of it can transfer onto your dress or other clothing items. Lipstick stains can be tough to remove, but there are ways to tackle them in a few easy steps.
Once you notice the stain, treat it as soon as possible. The longer stain sits on the fabric, the more difficult it will become to remove it. If you're out, make sure to keep the garment away from any other surface, as this can cause further staining.
Use a clean, dry towel to blot stain and soak up any excess moisture. Don't rub or scrub at the area, as this can cause the stain to spread and become further embedded in the fabric.
Using household items, create a solution to remove stain. For this you will need a teaspoon of liquid dish soap, a teaspoon of white vinegar, a cup of warm water and a clean, lint-free cloth. Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
Dip the lint-free cloth into the solution. Gently dab the stained area with it. Let the solution sit on the stain for a couple of minutes, and then rinse with cold water.
To ensure the stain is gone for good, throw garment in the wash. Follow the care label instructions and use a laundry detergent suitable for removing makeup products.
