Method 1: Use a Stain Remover

Using a professional stain remover is a quick and easy way to remove any type of stubborn stain from your macramé. Look for a product that is designed specifically for removing lipstick, such as a spray or foam remover. Follow the instructions on the packaging, making sure to test the product on a small area first (such as a hidden seam). Allow remover to sit for a few minutes before washing the fabric in the washing machine.

Method 2: Pretreat With Soap and Water

Mix a gentle liquid dishwashing detergent with cool water and dab it onto the stain with a soft, damp cloth. Work in a circular motion until the stain begins to lift. Rinse the cloth under cold water and repeat until the stain is gone. Once stain is removed, throw the macramé in the washing machine to get rid of any remaining residue.

Method 3: Use Baking Soda and Vinegar

Create a paste using a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar and rub it directly into the stain. Allow the paste to set for approximately 15 minutes, then rinse it off with cool water. You may need to repeat this process a few times if the stain isn't completely gone. Once the stain has been removed, wash the fabric in the washing machine to ensure all of the baking soda and vinegar is removed.

Method 4: Use Nail Polish Remover

Rub a small amount of nail polish remover onto the stain. Make sure to use a cotton swab to prevent the remover from getting onto areas of fabric that don't have lipstick on them. When the stain is gone, rinse the fabric and put it in the washing machine. Be sure to read labels on the nail polish remover and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Conclusion

No matter how stubborn lipstick stain is, you have several options for removing it from your macramé. If you use the methods outlined above correctly, you should have no trouble getting rid of the stain once and for all!
