Step 1: Pretreat the Stain

It's important to act quickly when dealing with lipstick stains because they can quickly set into the fabric. Start by applying a pre-wash stain remover to the stain and then let it soak for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Wash the Item

Using cold water, wash the item on gentlest cycle your washing machine has. If you have a delicate fabric, you may want to hand-wash it instead, using a special detergent for delicate fabrics.

Step 3: Dry the Item

Once the item is washed, hang it up or lay it flat to dry. You don't want to put it in the dryer as this may cause the stain to set further.

Bonus Tip

For stubborn lipstick stains, you may need to use a harsher stain remover that contains bleach. Be sure to test the stain remover on a hidden part of the fabric first to make sure it won't damage the fabric.
