Removing lipstick from your shoes can seem like an impossible task, but with the right steps, you can easily get rid of them. Here are steps to remove lipstick stains from Keds:
The sooner you address the stain, the easier it will be to get out. Take a paper towel or a white cloth and gently dab area to blot the lipstick and remove as much of the excess as possible. Don't wipe or rub the stain as this can spread it.
Mix some dish soap and hydrogen peroxide together to create your own cleaning solution. If the fabric your Keds are made of is delicate, you may want to dilute solution with some water. Apply the solution to the stain using a soft-bristled brush and let it sit for a few minutes.
Using cold water, rinse away the cleaning solution and stain. If necessary, repeat the steps until the stain is gone. Once it is removed, air-dry your Keds.
If the stain persists, you may need to use oxygen bleach or color safe bleach. Follow the instructions on the package and test the product on an inconspicuous spot of the shoe first. Apply the product to the stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it away.
Lipstick stains can be tricky to get out of fabric, but with the right steps and materials, it can be done. Follow these instructions and you'll be able to keep your Keds looking like new.
