When cleaning lipstick from fabric, it's important to remember that you don't want to rub or scrub stain. This could cause the ink in the lipstick to spread, creating an even bigger mess. Instead, here are some tips for safely and effectively removing lipstick from clothing.
Supplies Needed:
- Mild dishwashing detergent
- Cotton swab
- Damp cloth
- Hairdryer
Instructions:
- Start by dampening a cloth with warm water and a small amount of mild dishwashing detergent. Gently blot the stained area to moisten the fabric.
- Using a cotton swab, scoop up some of the detergent solution and apply directly to the affected area. Make sure to use light pressure when applying the detergent and work from the outside of the stain inward to prevent spreading.
- Blot the area with a dry cloth to remove the lipstick and soap residue. Repeat this step until all traces of the lipstick have been removed.
- Finally, finish by using a hairdryer to heat-set any remaining residue. Be sure to keep the hairdryer on the lowest setting and hold it at least six inches away from the fabric while drying.
