Remove Excess Lipstick

The first step to removing a lipstick stain is to get rid of as much of the excess as possible. Using a spoon or a dull knife, carefully scrape away any excess lipstick, being careful not to spread the stain further.Take care not to scratch the HM surface in the process.

Apply Detergent

Once you’ve removed as much of the excess lipstick as possible, apply a dish soap or laundry detergent directly onto the affected area. Rub it in gently but firmly, using circular motions. This will help to break down oils in the lipsticks which give it its staying power.

Wipe Away the Stain

Using a damp cloth or sponge, gently wipe away the treated area until the stain is gone. Be sure to use a gentle motion so that you don’t further damage the HM surface. If the stain is still there, repeat the process until it disappears.

Polish the Area

Once you have successfully removed the lipstick stain, use a wood polish to restore shine to the surface. You can use either commercial wood polish or a mixture of olive oil and vinegar to bring back the shine.

Prevent Future Stains

To help prevent future lipstick stains, make sure to rinse off any excess lipstick immediately after use. This will help keep the surface clean and protected from any further staining.
