Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain with Soap and Water

The first step must be pre-treatment of the stain with soap and water. Start by using a wet cloth to clean the stained area. If the stain persists, use a small amount of laundry detergent on spot. Then, soak the gloves for about 30 minutes in warm water.

Step 2: Use Non-Chlorine Bleach on White Gloves

If your gloves are white, a non-chlorine bleach can help brighten and improve their look. Add a small amount of non-chlorine bleach to a bucket of warm water and stir until it's fully incorporated. Submerge gloves in the liquid mixture and let them sit for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Use Vinegar on Colored Gloves

Vinegar is an excellent tool to use when cleaning lipstick stains from colored gloves. Simply dilute vinegar with water and mix it in a bowl. Soak the gloves in the liquid solution for about 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Step 4: Rub Alcohol on Stubborn Stains

If the stain is still persistent, try applying a small amount of rubbing alcohol directly to the spot. Use a cotton swab to gently rub the spot and work the alcohol into the stain. After a few minutes, rinse the gloves with cold water and repeat process as needed.

Step 5: Launder as Usual

Finally, launder the gloves with regular detergent and a gentle cycle setting. Hang the gloves to air dry and you’ll be ready to go!
