Mix a few drops of dish soap with a small amount of rubbing alcohol in a bowl and stir until you get a sudsy mixture.
Take your soft cloth and blot the stained area with sudsy mixture. Be sure to only blot as scrubbing may make stain worse.
Once you have blotted the stain with the sudsy mixture, rinse the area with a cloth dampened in warm water.
If stain still remains, take a cotton swab and dip it into more of the rubbing alcohol/dish soap mixture. Rub lightly onto the stain and then rinse with clean water.
If the stain still remains after repeating steps 3 and 4, repeat the entire process again until it is completely gone.
By following the steps above, you should be able to successfully remove lipstick stains from furniture upholstery. It may take some time and repetition, but it is possible. Good luck!
