Step 1: Scrape Off Excess Lipstick

The first step to removing a lipstick stain from flannel is to scrape off any excess lipstick residue. To do this, use a butter knife or other blunt object to carefully scrape away the excess, being careful not to rub too hard or to damage fabric. Once the excess has been scraped off, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover

After you’ve scraped off the excess lipstick, it’s time to apply a stain remover. Look for a stain remover specifically formulated for lipstick stains, as these are most effective. Apply the stain remover to the stain and allow it to sit for several minutes before proceeding to next step.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

Once the stain remover has had a chance to work, wash the fabric as you normally would. Check the garment before drying, as the stain may still be visible even after washing. If it is, move on to next step.

Step 4: Repeat Stain Remover and Washing if Necessary

If the stain is still visible after the initial washing, reapply the stain remover, let it sit for several minutes, then wash the fabric again. For particularly stubborn lipstick stains, you may need to repeat this process several times until the stain is completely gone. After laundering, hang fabric to dry.
