Create a solution of one cup of warm water and half a teaspoon of liquid detergent. Use a cloth or cotton ball to dab the solution gently onto the lipstick stained area until the stain begins to fade. Rinse the cloth or cotton ball often and re-apply your detergent mixture as necessary. Once you've removed as much of the stain as possible, rinse the area with warm water and allow to air dry.
A stain remover specially formulated for removing lipstick stains is another effective option. Place a small amount onto a cloth or cotton ball and dab onto the affected area. Be sure to follow the instructions on the packaging to get the best results.
Rubbing alcohol can be used as an alternative to a detergent solution. Simply apply a few drops of rubbing alcohol to a cloth or cotton ball and blot the stained area. As with the detergent solution, rinse the cloth or cotton ball often and change the alcohol as needed until the stain begins to fade. Once you're satisfied with results, rinse the area with warm water and leave to air dry.
If all else fails, try treating the stain with white vinegar. Soak a cotton ball in one part vinegar and two parts lukewarm water and use to blot the stained area. Rinse the cotton ball in clean water and repeat as necessary until the stain disappears. Finally, rinse the area with cool water and allow to air dry.
No one wants to deal with a lipstick stain on their dress, but hopefully these four simple solutions will help you get them out quickly and easily. All you need is some liquid detergent, a stain remover, rubbing alcohol, or white vinegar and you'll be able to remove those lipstick stains in no time!
