If you’ve got a dashiki that has lipstick stains on it, you may be wondering how to get rid of them. It can be frustrating to find yourself dealing with a stain, but luckily, there are some simple steps you can take to erase it and keep your dashiki looking as good as new.
The first step to removing the lipstick stain is to brush off any excess product from the fabric. Use a soft-bristle brush and gently rub the area in a circular motion. Be sure not to scrub too hard, as this could cause further damage to the fabric.
Once the excess lipstick has been removed, you can start working on stain itself. Begin by creating a mixture of laundry detergent and water. Dip a cloth or sponge into the solution and then blot stained areas. Be sure to use a gentle, circular motion to ensure that you don’t spread the stain even further.
Once you’ve blotted the stain, you’ll want to wash the entire dashiki. Put it in the washing machine on the delicate cycle and use a mild laundry detergent. After the cycle is done, air dry the dashiki and examine area. If it still looks stained, repeat steps 1 through 3 until the stain has been removed.
After successfully removing the stain, you should re-wash the dashiki in order to remove any traces of detergent that may have been left behind. Do the same thing you did in step 3, but this time, add a ½ cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle. This will help remove any remaining residue from the fabric.
When the cycle is complete, inspect the dashiki for any remaining stains. If all is clear, you can dry the fabric as usual.
Removing lipstick stains from your dashiki doesn’t have to be a daunting task. With a few simple steps, you can quickly remove the stain and get back to enjoying your favorite fabric.
