Step 1: Scrape off Excess Lipstick

Using a butter knife or spoon, carefully scrape off any excess lipstick from the stain. Do not press too hard or you may push the stain further into the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treat with a Stain Remover

Spray a pre-treatment stain remover on the stained area, such as OxyClean™ or Shout™. This will help to break down the stain more easily so it can be washed out.

Step 3: Wash with Hot Water

Set your washing machine to the hottest setting, and add 1/4 cup of washing detergent. Place the item in the washing machine and let the cycle run through.

Step 4: Apply Ammonia for Stubborn Stains

If stain still remains after washing, mix 1 tablespoon of clear household ammonia with 1 cup of water. Dip a soft cloth in the solution, and lightly dab the stain until it is removed.

Step 5: Rinse with Cold Water

Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with cold water and repeat the laundering process using cold water setting. Finally, hang or lay the garment flat to air dry.
