Step One: Pre-Treatment

The first step is to pre-treat the stain with a small amount of laundry detergent. Take a wet washcloth and rub the stain with a bit of detergent until it begins to form a lather. Then, blot the stained area with a paper towel or a clean white cloth to remove as much of the lipstick from fabric as possible.

Step Two: Spot Cleaning

Once you’ve pre-treated the area, it’s time to move on to spot cleaning. Take a medium-bristled scrub brush or toothbrush and dip it in a mixture of 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup of cold water. Gently scrub the stain with the brush until it starts to fade. Rinse the fabric with cool water and then blot the area with a paper towel or white cloth to absorb any excess liquid.

Step Three: Washing

For the third and final step, put your shirt in the washing machine with the rest of your clothes. Set the temperature to cold and run a standard cycle. Once the cycle is complete, hang your shirt up to air dry and enjoy your favorite piece of clothing being stain-free again!
