Removing Lipstick Stains from Cotton Denim

  1. Soak the stain in cold water for 30 minutes . Soak the stained area of denim in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This will help to loosen the stains and make them easier to remove.
  2. Apply a gentle laundry detergent . Use a mild laundry detergent or baby shampoo to spot treat stain. Gently rub the detergent into the stained area and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
  3. Wash with hot water . Set your washing machine to the hottest temperature allowed on the fabric's care label and add a cup of vinegar to cycle. This will help to break down the stain even further and prevent it from setting.
  4. Hang to dry . Hang the denim to air dry rather than running it through the dryer. The heat from the dryer could set the stain and make it much more difficult to remove.
  5. Check the stain . After jeans are dry, check the area to see if the stain has been completely removed. If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps until it is gone.

With these tips, you should be able to get rid of those pesky lipstick stains from your cotton denim!
