Depending on the material of your coat, there are several ways to tackle stubborn lipstick stains. For fabrics like wool, cashmere, and nylon, try this effective method:

  • Start by blotting the stain with a cloth to absorb any excess oil or liquid.
  • Prepare a mixture of one part white vinegar to three parts water and dip a clean cloth into the solution.
  • Gently rub the stain in a circular motion until it begins to dissipate.
  • Rinse the cloth between strokes to ensure that you are always using a clean area.
  • After the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and dab it dry with a cloth.

If you have a stain on leather or suede, you will need to act a bit differently. Start by wiping off any excess lipstick residue with a soft cloth, and then prepare a mixture of two parts white vinegar to one part water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and begin to gently massage it onto the stain.

  • Work in a circular motion until the stain has been completely lifted.
  • When finished, use a clean cloth to dab the area dry.
  • To restore the leather surface, apply a leather conditioner to the area.

No matter the material of your coat, it's important to always test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area before beginning. That way, you can make sure that the methods you choose won't cause any damage to your beloved garments.

With these tips, those pesky lipstick stains will soon be a thing of the past. Your beautiful coats will be looking brand new in no time!
