Get Rid of Lipstick Stains on Your Coat in a Jiffy

Steps to Remove Lipstick Stains from Your Coat

1. Gently dab off the excess lipstick. Take a clean cloth or paper towel and gently blot the stain. This will help absorb some of the excess colour and also loosen the stain to help make it easier to remove.
2. Apply a pre-wash stain remover. Use a non-bleach product designed to help remove stubborn stains before washing. Make sure to follow the instructions on the container. Be aware that certain fabrics may require special care, so take time to read manufacturer’s instructions on clothing label before proceeding.
3. Test for colour fastness. To avoid any surprises later, do a small patch test by applying a small amount of the pre-wash stain remover along with some cold water on an inconspicuous area of the garment. Allow a few minutes for the product to take effect and then rinse with water. If the area remains the same colour, then you can move on to step 4.
4. Wash the coat. Once you’re satisfied that the pre-stain remover will not cause any damage to your coat, put the item in the washing machine with a regular cycle and detergent. Check temperature setting on your washer and use lowest setting that will get your coat clean.
5. Let coat air dry. After the wash cycle has finished, take your coat out of the washing machine and hang it up to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer as this can cause further damage to the fabric.
6. Check for any remaining stains. Once coat has dried, check to see if the stain is still present. If it is, repeat the steps above.
