What You'll Need

  • Sponge
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Baking soda
  • Lemon juice
  • Cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Begin by gently blotting the stain with a sponge or cloth. Use a paper towel if one is available; otherwise use a damp cloth soaked in cold water.

Step 2: Make a Soapy Solution

Mix a small amount of mild laundry detergent with cold water to create a soapy solution. Dip your sponge into the mixture, then gently dab the affected area.

Step 3: Apply Baking Soda & Lemon Juice

On top of the detergent solution, sprinkle baking soda, followed by a few drops of lemon juice. Rub the area with a damp cloth and let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 4: Rinse & Dry

Once the baking soda and lemon juice have had time to do their work, rinse the fabric with cold water. Gently pat the area dry with a clean cloth, being careful not to rub the fabric too harshly.
