Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Clean Cloth
Using a clean cloth, gently blot lipstick stain to absorb as much of the lipstick as possible. Do not rub the stain as this will spread the lipstick and make the stain larger.
Step 2: Apply Stain Remover or Dish Soap
Spray the stain remover or dish soap directly onto the lipstick stain and allow it to sit for a few minutes. If you are using dish soap, let the dish soap and the stain mix together until you can see bubbles.
Step 3: Scrub the Stain with a Soft-Bristled Brush
Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub stain until lipstick is removed. Be sure to scrub gently, otherwise you may cause damage to the fabric.
Step 4: Rinse the Stain with Water
Rinse area with cold water to remove any remaining residue. If there is still lipstick remaining, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is completely gone.
Step 5: Air Dry and Check Your Work
Once stain is gone, air dry the garment or use a clean cloth to dab away any remaining moisture. When the garment is completely dry, inspect area for any lingering lipstick stains.
