What You’ll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Cold water
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cotton swab

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by blotting the lipstick stain with a cotton swab. Be sure to use a dry swab so as not to spread the stain. Blot gently in a circular motion until lipstick has been absorbed into the swab.

Step 2: Soak the Bandana

Once you’ve blotted the stain, fill a bowl or sink with cold water. Add a few drops of dish soap and stir until it’s dissolved. Submerge the bandana in the solution and let it soak for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse with Vinegar & Baking Soda Solution

Once the bandana has finished soaking, drain the water and rinse it with cold water. Then, fill the bowl with cold water again and add 1 Tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 Tablespoon of baking soda. Stir the solution until the baking soda is dissolved. Submerge the bandana in the solution and let it soak for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Rinse & Dry

After 15 minutes, drain the solution and rinse the bandana with cold water. Squeeze out as much water as possible and lay it flat on a clean towel. Flip it over after a few minutes and then let it air dry.
