What You'll Need for Cleaning Lipstick Stains

  • Clean cloth
  • Gentle liquid dish washing soap
  • Baking soda
  • Rubbing alcohol

How to Remove Lipstick Stains from Ballet Flats

  1. Start by blotting the stain with a clean cloth to remove as much of the lipstick residue as possible. Be sure to work from the outside inwards to avoid spreading the stain further.
  2. Mix two tablespoons of gentle liquid dish washing soap with one cup of cool water. Dip another clean cloth into the mixture and gently rub it onto the stain in a circular motion. Continue rubbing until the stain has been lifted from the fabric.
  3. For tougher stains, apply a paste of baking soda and water directly onto the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth. If stain still remains, apply some rubbing alcohol directly on stain and let it sit for 5 minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth.
