Lipstick stains don't stand a chance with this powerful, three-step process to remove them from area rugs. All you need is a few simple household ingredients and tools to get any stain out in no time.
Step 1: Scrape Off Excess Lipstick
Using a blunt knife or spoon, gently scrape off as much of the lipstick as possible. Be sure to use a gentle scraping motion in order to avoid damaging the fibers of rug.
Step 2: Blot the Stain with Detergent and Water
Mix a few drops of dish detergent in a cup of water and use a white cloth or paper towel to blot the stain. Continue blotting until the stain has started to lift off the rug.
Step 3: Rinse Off the Stain
Run cold water through a sponge or cloth and use it to rinse the stain off the rug. Be sure to work gently in order to avoid causing any further damage.
Once the stain has been removed, use a clean cloth to dry and fluff up the fibers of the rug. And just like that, you've successfully removed the pesky lipstick stain!
