Removing Lipstick Stains from Abaya
- Start by dampening the stained area with cold water.
- If it's a matte finish, gently rub a drop of mild liquid detergent onto the stain.
- If it's a glossy finish, add a drop of rubbing alcohol to the stain and rub gently.
- Rinse the detergent or rubbing alcohol with cold water.
- If any colour still remains, add a tablespoon of baking soda to ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide and mix until it forms a paste.
- Gently rub paste onto the stain until it lifts.
- Rinse the paste off with cool water.
- Blot the area dry with a soft cloth.
- Repeat the process as necessary until the stain is completely gone.
Tips for Prevention
- Pre-treat newly bought abayas with a stain remover.
- Avoid wearing lipstick that is not long-lasting.
- Use a lip primer and lip liner to keep lipstick in place.
