Voile is a beautiful, sheer fabric that is often used for formal wear. It’s also fairly delicate, so when it comes to cleaning ketchup stains, special care must be taken. Here are a few simple tips that you can use to keep your voile looking pristine.
As soon as you get a ketchup stain on your voile fabric, take a clean, white cloth and press down firmly on the area to absorb as much of ketchup as possible. Don’t rub the stain, as this could spread the stain and make it harder to remove.
Mix one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent and two cups of water together. Dip a cloth or sponge into the mixture and gently dab the stained area. Be sure to rotate the cloth or sponge to a clean area of fabric before going over the same spot, as this will help lift the ketchup from the fabric.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, rinse fabric with cold water. Be sure to use gentle pressure, as rubbing too hard can cause the fabric to fray.
Place the voile fabric into the washing machine on delicate cycle. Add a mild detergent and an oxygen bleach, such as Cascade Free & Clear. Let the cycle run and then remove fabric immediately once it has finished. Hang voile fabric to air dry.
With these easy steps, you can easily remove ketchup stains from your voile fabric. Just remember to act quickly and use a gentle hand when treating the stain.
