What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Olive oil
  • Cold water
  • Soft cloth
  • Paper towels

Step-by-step Instructions

1. Blot the Stain

Gently use a paper towel or soft cloth to blot away as much of ketchup as possible. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as this can cause the ketchup to spread further and set deeper into the fabric.

2. Apply Vinegar

Once the ketchup has been blotted, apply white vinegar with a damp cloth over the affected area, rubbing gently. Let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

3. Rub Olive Oil on the Stain

Mix olive oil with baking soda in equal parts and rub it into the stain using a gentle circular motion. Let mixture sit for 10-15 minutes.

4. Remove Mixture

Rinse away mixture with cold water and let the fabric dry.

5. Launder the Fabric

To completely remove the ketchup stain, launder the fabric according to the care instructions provided.
