The first step in getting rid of a ketchup stain is to carefully scrape off any excess that has stuck to the fabric. Use a butter knife or the edge of a spoon for this purpose and make sure to do it very gently so as not to damage the material. Once all the excess ketchup has been removed, go to next step.
White vinegar is a miracle when it comes to removing ketchup stains. Simply pour some white vinegar onto the stain and then rub it into the fabric with a clean cloth. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then wash off the vinegar with cold water. The stain should be significantly faded, if not completely gone.
If the stain still persists, then try using some dish-washing liquid and hot water. Apply a few drops of the dish-washing liquid onto stain, and then scrub it gently with a soft-bristled brush. After scrubbing the stain for few minutes, rinse it off with cold water.
If previous two methods fail, then try using ice cubes. Place the ice cubes onto the stain and let them sit there for a few minutes. This will help freeze the ketchup particles, making it easier to remove them from the fabric. Once the ice cubes have melted, use a clean cloth to gently scrub the stain away.
Ketchup stains on tights can be a nuisance, but don't let them get you down. By following the above steps, you can easily and effectively get rid of these stubborn stains. The key is to act quickly - the longer the stain sits, the harder it will be to remove.
