What You Need

  • A bowl
  • Powdered laundry detergent
  • White vinegar

Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

Mix one tablespoon of powdered detergent with one cup of water in a bowl. Stir until the detergent is completely dissolved in the water. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution and dab the stained area. Make sure you only dab, and don't rub or scrub fabric as this could damage it.

Step 2: Soak the Stained Area

Pour some white vinegar on the stain and let it soak for at least 10 minutes. The acidity of the vinegar will help break down stubborn ketchup stains.

Step 3: Wash in the Machine

After soaking the thong, it's time to put it in the washing machine. Use the regular cycle, but make sure to use cold water only. Cold water will prevent the fabric from shrinking.

Step 4: Dry the Thong

Don't put the thong in the dryer! Place it on a flat surface and let it air dry. After the thong has fully dried, inspect the stained area to make sure all of the ketchup has been removed.

Conclusion

Ketchup stains can be difficult to remove from thongs, but with the right approach it is possible. Follow these simple steps and you'll have your thong looking as good as new in no time!
