What You'll Need:

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • A damp towel
  • A dry towel
  • Olive oil

Step 1: Blot Up the Excess Ketchup

The first step is to use a damp towel to blot up as much of the excess ketchup as possible. Be sure to use a gentle touch; rubbing or scrubbing too hard might cause the stain to spread.

Step 2: Make a Paste of Baking Soda and Water

Next, make a paste using baking soda and a few drops of water. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Mix Vinegar and Water

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl and apply it to the stained area with a damp cloth. Scrub gently until the stain starts to lift, then rinse the area with cold water.

Step 4: Apply a Drop of Olive Oil

Finally, use a dry towel to dry the area, then apply a small drop of olive oil to the stain. Gently rub oil into the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then wipe off the oil with a clean cloth and the stain should be gone!
