Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot away as much of the excess ketchup as possible. Don't rub or scrub the stain, as this will spread it around and make it more difficult to remove.
Mix a small amount of detergent with warm water and use a clean cloth or soft brush to apply it to stain. Let it sit for about two minutes, then rinse with cold water.
Create a vinegar solution by mixing equal parts white vinegar with warm water and apply to the stain. Scrub the spot gently with a clean cloth or soft brush, then rinse with cold water.
If the stain remains, place stocking in the washing machine with liquid laundry detergent, and set it to gentlest cycle possible. When the cycle is complete, hang the stockings to dry. The stain should now be gone.
Getting rid of ketchup stains on stockings isn't complicated, but it does require patience and attention. Using the steps described above, you should be able to easily remove ketchup stains and keep your stockings looking good.
