Pre-Treating the Stain
- As soon as possible, take a paper towel and dab gently at the stain to remove as much of the liquid as you can – pressing too hard or rubbing fabric may cause stain to spread.
- Place the stained area of fabric over a bowl filled with cold water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
- After soaking, use a mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water to spot treat the stain. Rub the stain gently with the detergent solution.
Washing and Drying
- Before putting the garment in the washing machine, check the care label to make sure it can be machine-washed. Most silk-satin fabrics can only be washed by hand.
