The first step when removing a ketchup stain from silk organza is to blot stain with a damp cloth or paper towel. Blotting the stain will help to remove some of excess ketchup before it sets in. Then, mix together a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Soak a cloth in this mixture and dab it onto the stain, working outwards from the center. Be sure to rinse the cloth with clean water and dab the area until the stain has completely gone.
Next, apply a small amount of liquid detergent onto stained area. Work the detergent into the fabric using a soft bristled brush. Then, rinse area with cool water and allow it to air dry. Once the stain is gone, you may need to do a few treatments of spot-cleaning. To do this, dab some non-chlorine bleach onto a clean cloth and use it to scrub away any remaining stain. Finally, air dry once more and the stain should be completely removed.
With these steps, you can easily get rid of ketchup stains from silk organza. Be sure to test vinegar and detergent solutions on an inconspicuous area before using them on stain. If the silk fabric becomes too wet, you should lay it flat and allow it to air dry.
