The best way to remove a ketchup stain from silk nubuck fabric is to always tend to it immediately. Make sure you blot area as soon as possible with a clean white cloth to absorb excess ketchup. Do not rub or scrub the area as this can spread the stain further.

Once all the excess ketchup has been blotted away, mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with two cups of warm water. Dip a soft brush into the soapy solution and gently brush over the stain in a circular motion. Rubbing too hard will damage the fabric, so be gentle. When finished, use a damp cloth to blot away the soapy residue.

If the stain persists, you can try using a stain remover spray specifically for silk. Test it out on a small, hidden area of fabric first, then lightly spray the stain. Blot the stain with a dry cloth until the stain has been completely lifted. Rinse area with a damp cloth and let it air dry completely.

For deep-set stains, you may need to bring garment to a professional dry cleaner. Always make sure to mention the ketchup stain when you drop off the item to ensure that the right procedures are followed.
