What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Gentle detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Blot stain with a soft cloth to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.
  2. Soak the stained area in cold water and gently rub it with a small amount of detergent. Let the fabric soak for about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix together equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a bowl.
  4. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and use it to dab the stain. Don't scrub it or you might damage the fabric.
  5. Rinse the area with cold water and let it air dry.

Additional Tips

  • Don't use hot water, as this may cause the stain to set into the fabric.
  • Hang the fabric up on a clothesline or in a well-ventilated area to let it air dry, as a dryer can cause the stain to set.
  • For stubborn ketchup stains, repeat steps 2-5 until the stain is completely removed.
  • If you're still having trouble getting the stain out, try using a stain remover specifically designed for delicate fabrics like silk.
