Using a soft white cloth or a paper towel, carefully blot the stained area to absorb the excess ketchup. Work from the outside towards the inside, so as not to spread the stain.
Mix a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with warm water in a bowl. Then, dip cloth into the mixture and wring it out until it's damp.
Gently scrub the stained area with the damp cloth. Continue to apply pressure and dab the area until stain is gone. If stain is still there, you can use a small brush or toothbrush to scrub out any remaining residue.
After the stain has been removed, it’s important to spot clean the area to make sure all of the ketchup has been removed. To do this, dip a clean cloth into the mixture of dishwashing liquid and warm water. Squeeze out the excess water before dabbing area to remove any lingering residue.
Allow the area to dry completely before wearing the item of clothing. This will help ensure that the ketchup stain won't come back.
