What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Water
  • Clean sponge or brush

Step 1: Soak the Item in Water

Before attempting to clean pot or pan, fill it with hot water and soak it for 15 minutes. This will help to loosen any tough bits of ketchup that are stuck to the surface.

Step 2: Scrub the Surface

Once the item has been soaked, use a clean, soft sponge or brush to gently scrub the ketchup off. If there are still stubborn pieces that won't come off, you can try using a stainless steel scrubber for extra scrubbing power.

Step 3: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix together 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of dish soap in a bowl of warm water. Dip your sponge in mixture and use it to scrub away any remaining ketchup stains.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the item with clean water and then dry it with a clean paper towel or cloth. The ketchup should now be gone!

Extra Tips

  • For tougher stains, mix together baking soda and water and use it to scrub surface.
  • If the ketchup stain is on your clothes, you can try pre-treating the area with a stain remover before laundering.
