Piqué fabric has long been a favorite for shirts and blouses, but it can be tricky when came to taking care of stains. Even if you’re fast at dabbing up mess, ketchup or tomato-based stains can quickly set in and become seemingly impossible to remove. Here are the steps you need to follow to get your clothes looking their best again.
Grab a clean white cloth and gently blot the stain to absorb as much of the ketchup as possible. Don’t rub or scrub the stain—this can spread ketchup and make it harder to remove later.
Mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water. You can use this solution to pre-treat the stain before laundering.
Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the cleaning solution and gently rub it against the ketchup stain. This will help to break down the stain and make it easier to remove.
Once you’ve worked the cleaning solution into the stain, it’s time to launder the item. Make sure to choose the correct cycle and temperature for the fabric, and add a mild detergent like Woolite. Check the instructions on the clothing label for more information.
Once the cycle is complete, check the garment for any remaining stains. If stain is still visible, repeat Steps 3 and 4 before drying the item.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
