Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you start cleaning off your ketchup stain, it’s important to make sure you have the right supplies. You’ll need:

  • A soft cloth or sponge
  • White vinegar
  • Dish detergent
  • Baking soda

Step 2: Dab Stain with a Cloth

Using a soft cloth or sponge, gently dab the stained area to absorb as much of the ketchup as possible. Try not to spread the stain by patting stain rather than rubbing it.

Step 3: Douse Stain in White Vinegar

Once you’ve blotted as much of the ketchup out as you can, use a clean cloth or sponge to douse the stain in white vinegar. Allow vinegar to sit on stained area for several minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 4: Mix Up a Dish Detergent Solution

In a bowl, mix together one cup of warm water and a couple of drops of dish detergent. Soak a fresh sponge or cloth in this solution and gently dab the stain with it. Be careful not to rub the stain as this may cause it to spread.

Step 5: Apply Baking Soda

Once you’ve dabbed the area with the dish detergent solution, sprinkle some baking soda onto the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with water.

Step 6: Rinse Off the Stain

Using a cloth or sponge, rinse off baking soda and remaining detergent solution from the stained area. Then let the overalls sit until they’re completely dry.
