When it comes to removing ketchup stains from nylon fabric, the trick is to act quickly and use the right cleaning products. The sooner you act, the more likely you are to succeed in removing the stain completely.

Step by Step Guide for Cleaning Ketchup Stains from Nylon

  1. Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel as soon as possible to soak up any excess ketchup. Do not rub the stain as this may spread the sauce deeper into the material.
  2. Mix one teaspoon of mild detergent or laundry pre-treatment liquid with 1/4 cup of cool water.
  3. Using a clean white cloth (not paper towel), apply a small amount of the detergent solution to the stain.
  4. Blot the area with the solution until it begins to dissolve the stain.
  5. Once the stain has dissipated, rinse it with cool water.
  6. If the stain still persists, repeat steps two to five.
  7. Once all traces of stain have been removed, air dry the nylon fabric.

Remember to check the care instructions on the label first. If the item is machine washable then you can place it in the washing machine on a cool cycle and add a scoop of oxygen bleach to the load. Check the item before drying and if the stain is still evident, repeat the above steps.
