Accidents happen, and when spilled ketchup lands on your favorite New Balance shoes, it can be hard to know what to do. Luckily, removing ketchup stains from New Balance shoes doesn't have to be complicated. With the right tools and some patience, you can easily restore your shoes back to their original condition.

Materials

White cloth
Liquid laundry detergent
Water
Stain remover (optional)

Step 1: Blot Stain

Use a white cloth to blot stain as soon as possible. This will help absorb some of the ketchup being seeped into the shoe fabric. Do not rub the stain, as this will only spread it out further and cause more damage to the fabric.

Step 2: Prep the Detergent

Mix one part liquid laundry detergent with four parts warm water. Make sure that the detergent is completely dissolved into the water.

Step 3: Apply the Solution

Soak a white cloth in the detergent solution and gently dab the stain. Do not rub or put too much pressure on the shoe fabric, as this could damage it. After you have blotted the stain with the solution, use a clean, wet cloth to rinse off the detergent. Allow the shoe to air dry.
