Before anything else, you'll need to remove as much of the ketchup as possible from fabric. Gently blot the stain with a clean cloth. This will help prevent the stain from spreading and will also absorb much of it. Be sure to use a light-colored cloth so that any remaining ketchup won't be visible.
Mix a powdered detergent with warm water and stir it well into a paste. With a damp cloth, apply the paste onto the ketchup stain and let it work its magic. Leave it to sit for about 15 minutes, then rinse it off. You should notice that most of the ketchup has been removed.
If you still see remnants of stain, try using white vinegar. Dilute ¼ cup of white vinegar with equal parts of warm water, and gently dab the stained area with the mixture. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.
If all else fails, use an absorbent pad or paper towel to remove the ketchup from the fabric. When using an absorbent pad, press down firmly but gently. This will help absorb any remaining ketchup and prevent it from spreading further.
Once the stain has disappeared, wash the fabric with cold water and a mild laundry detergent. After the mohair fabric has been washed, lay it flat to dry. Be careful not to put it in the dryer - as mohair tends to shrink in heat.
With these five quick and easy steps, you can save your mohair fabric from the dreaded ketchup stain. Be sure to act quickly and start the cleaning process as soon as the stain appeared.
