Removing Ketchup Stains

Ketchup stains can be removed by first scraping off as much of the excess spilled ketchup as possible. Take a thick paper towel or napkin and carefully blot stain in a light dabbing motion. Use cool water and sprinkle a small amount of dish soap onto the stain. Gently rub the stain using a soft cloth, taking care not to spread the stain out. Rinse the area with cool water and then gently pat the spot with a dry, clean cloth.

Using White Vinegar

White vinegar can also be used to help remove stubborn ketchup stains from mesh fabric. Begin by thoroughly saturating the stained area with white vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes. Blot the spot with a paper towel to remove stain. Rinse with cool water and use a clean cloth to dab the area dry. Finish by rinsing area with cold water again.

Bleaching with Hydrogen Peroxide

For tougher ketchup stains on mesh, hydrogen peroxide can help remove the mess. Using a 3% solution, begin by saturating the stain with hydrogen peroxide and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse area with cool water, then apply a small amount of mild detergent and leave it on for an additional 10 minutes. Finally, rinse the area with cool water and use a dry cloth to pat the area dry.
