Things You'll Need

  • White rag
  • Paper towels
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Stain remover specifically for Marc Jacobs fabric
  • Distilled white vinegar/lemon juice/ammonia
  • Non-chlorine bleach (if applicable)

Step 1: Scrape Off Excess Ketchup

Be sure to use a dull utensil like a butter knife. Carefully remove excess ketchup as quickly as possible without spreading the stain. Do not rub or scrub.

Step 2: Blot the Stain with a White Rag

Using a white rag soaked in lukewarm water, gently blot the stained spot. Be sure to avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabric.

Step 3: Use Laundry Detergent

Mix a small amount of mild laundry detergent with lukewarm water. Apply the solution to the stained area using a white rag. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.

Step 4: Apply Stain Remover

If the stain remains, apply a specific stain remover for Marc Jacobs fabric. Follow the instructions on the container and allow product to sit for the recommended time before washing.

Step 5: Rinse and Wash

Rinse the stained area with lukewarm water and then wash it according to the care label instructions. If you see the stain still visible after washing, repeat steps 1-4.

Step 6: Soak and Repeat

If the stain persists, mix one teaspoon of non-chlorine bleach with one gallon of water. Soak the garment in this solution for 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Repeat step 4 to get rid of the remaining stain.
