The first step to remove a ketchup stain from your loafers is to blot area with a paper towel or cloth. Try to absorb as much of the stain as possible and avoid rubbing the stain further into the material.
Once you’ve blotted the area, pour a small amount of laundry detergent onto the stain. Use a brush to gently scrub the detergent into the fabric of shoe for a few minutes. Then let the detergent sit for up to an hour before proceeding to the next step.
Finally, put the loafers into the washing machine and set it to a gentle cycle. Make sure to use cold water and avoid using bleach or any other harsh solvents. Once cycle is completed, check for signs of the stain. If the stain remains, repeat steps 1-3 before drying.
To prevent future ketchup stains from ruining your loafers, make sure to keep them away from any messy foods. Additionally, you can also apply a waterproofing solution to the shoes to protect them.
