The first step for removing a ketchup stain from joggers is to blot it gently with a paper towel or a clean rag. Do not rub, as this will only make the stain worse. Pat gently until cloth comes away without any more residue.
Now that you’ve blotted up as much of the ketchup as possible, it’s time to pre-treat the stain. Mix one tablespoon of liquid detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Apply a few drops of solution directly onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
Once you’ve given the detergent mixture a few minutes to work its magic, it’s time to rinse it off. Hold joggers under cool running water and massage the detergent mixture around the stain, then rinse thoroughly.
After rinsing off detergent mixture, it’s time to throw the joggers in the washing machine. Set the machine to a delicate cycle using cold water, and add a mild detergent. For extra stain-fighting power, add ¼ cup of white vinegar to the load.
Once cycle has finished, hang the joggers up to dry. Never put stained clothes in the dryer, as the heat will set stain and make it impossible to remove. Once your joggers are dry, check to see if the stain has been removed. If not, repeat Steps 1–4.
