What You Need

  • A bowl or sink
  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • A soft, white cloth

Instructions

  1. Start by blotting the stain with a cold, damp cloth. Don't rub it as this can cause the stain to spread.
  2. Fill a bowl or sink with cold water and a few drops of mild detergent. Gently submerge stained area in soapy water for up to 30 minutes.
  3. Rinse area with cold water to remove any residue or soap left behind.
  4. Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a bowl. Dip a soft, white cloth into solution and gently dab the stain with cloth.
  5. Rinse the area with cold water and let fabric air dry.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is still visible after you've followed the instructions above, try soaking the fabric in a solution of equal parts distilled white vinegar and cold water for 30 minutes before washing it with a mild detergent.
  • Be sure to always read and follow the care instructions on the label of your clothing before attempting any cleaning solutions.
  • Never put colored fabrics in the dryer before double-checking that the stain has been removed.
