Materials Needed

  • Liquid detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth
  • Spray bottle

Removing Ketchup Stains from J Jill

  1. Test a small area of your J Jill clothing for colorfastness.
  2. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar into two cups of lukewarm water in a spray bottle.
  3. Shake the spray bottle to mix solution.
  4. Spray the stained area, saturating but not drenching it.
  5. Let the solution sit on stain for 10 minutes.
  6. Scrub the mixture gently with a soft cloth.
  7. Rinse the area with lukewarm water.
  8. Repeat steps 2 through 7 if needed.
  9. If the stain still remains, soak the clothing in a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water overnight.
  10. Launder as usual.

Tips

  • It is always best to treat stains as soon as possible. The longer a stain sits, the harder it will be to remove.
  • Be sure to use a gentle detergent or soap when treating the stain.
  • Don't dry the article of clothing in dryer until the stain is completely removed.
