What You Will Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent (preferably soap flakes)
  • Dry cloth
  • Plastic spoon

Instructions

  1. First, gently scrape off any excess ketchup with the plastic spoon. Be careful not to spread it further.
  2. Next, dampen the stained area with cold water and apply a small amount of mild detergent directly to stain.
  3. Rub the detergent into the stain for a few minutes to help loosen the ketchup from the fabric fibers.
  4. Once the stain has been loosened, rinse the area with cold water until all the detergent is washed away.
  5. Finally, use a dry cloth to blot away any remaining moisture. Do not rub or scrub as this could damage the fabric.

Tips & Tricks

  • Let the fabric air dry after cleaning.
  • If the stain is still there after first attempt, repeat Steps 1-4 before letting the fabric air dry.
  • If the stain is stubborn and won't come out, take the fabric to a professional dry cleaner.
