Step 1: Blot Stain

Before anything else, use a clean paper towel or cloth to blot up as much of excess ketchup as you can. This will prevent the stain from setting further and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Pre-Treat with Soap & Water

Using lukewarm water and a mild dish soap like Dawn, mix it together, and apply a small amount to the stain with a soft cloth or sponge. Allow the mixture to sit for five minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Apply a Stain Removing Spray

If the simple soap and water mixture did not remove stain, then it’s time to try a stain remover spray. Spray the area, and allow it to sit for five minutes before blotting away with a paper towel. Avoid rubbing to much as this can lead to the stain setting in even further.

Step 4: Wash Gloves & Air Dry

Once the stain has been successfully removed, throw the gloves into the washing machine with a gentle cycle. After cycle is done, hang them up on a clothesline and allow them to air dry in the sun.

Conclusion

Ketchup stains can be tricky to remove from items like gloves, but following these steps, you can get rid of the stain quickly and easily. Always start by blotting up as much of the stain as you can, followed by a pre-treatment with soap and lukewarm water. If that does not work, give a stain removing spray a try and finish things off by throwing the gloves into the washing machine.
