Step 1: Blot the Stain

Grab a clean white cloth and begin gently blotting stain. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing so that you don’t spread stain further. Instead, focus on removing as much of the ketchup as possible.

Step 2: Apply Cream of Tartar and Water

Mix together some cream of tartar and a small amount of water until it forms a thick paste. Then, apply it directly onto the stained area and let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Once the paste has had time to sit, rinse it all off with cold water. You may have to repeat steps 1-3 multiple times to fully remove the stain, so don’t give up if you don’t see results immediately.

Step 4: Wash as Normal

Once you’re satisfied with the stain removal, wash the garment as normal. Make sure to check that stain is totally gone before putting it in the dryer; otherwise, it could set the stain in and be impossible to remove.
